The One-Piece

There's something so chic and glamorous about a simple one-piece. I never really gave them the time of day before having babies but I've grown to love them. Especially with two May babies! I prefer ones with ruching and a flattering neckline that will never go out of style. This summer I bought the polka dot one below (on sale!) to ease back into swimsuit season with a two month old!!

As for cover-ups, I like something neutral that can double up as a dress with sandals or flats. Great to throw on if Will and I get to sneak away for a late lunch or cocktails at the beach!!

Merchant & Mills

I'm such a sucker for good looking labels and packaging. This Sewing Box from Merchant & Mills comes with all the essentials and I can assure you it's much more attractive than what you find at the fabric store! I think it would make such a perfect gift for someone who doesn't know how to sew!!

Round Pillows!

I love simple round pillows, especially when they add a pop of color on an all white bed. They look good in pairs or by themselves, and you can do them in just about any kind of fabric. There are so many options: with self cording, contrasting cording, with a button in the center, pleating around the edges, ETC. The best part is that you can throw them on with shams and your bed is made!!

They aren't just for the bedroom either...

I just finished sewing this one with pleating and a covered button to go in a pale pink bedroom at the beach...

Birthday Weekend!

Will and I snuck away to Austin for the night to celebrate our birthdays. We rode bikes through the capitol, sipped champagne, and got a full night's sleep. The perfect birthday!

Shop Your Closet

I had completely forgotten about this skirt until I spotted it on Pinterest! I guess it got shoved to the back of my closet with the rest of my non-maternity clothes. Even though I originally wore it for holiday parties last year with black tights, heels and a blazer, it works well in the summertime too. It makes me think I need to go dig through the rest of my closet and re-accessorize!

I love to wear sweaters in the summertime, even if it means throwing them on once you get inside the air conditioning. I've been layering mine with t-shirts and cut-offs, sleeveless dresses, and everything in between. It's almost time to snatch them up on sale and get ready for fall!!
