Reuse, Recycle

It's intriguing to watch a 2 year old's imagination run wild...a placemat as a hat, a fabric swatch for a baby blanket, a diaper box as a dollhouse...it never ceases to amaze me. I guess all those creative juices are rubbing off on me, wanting to reinvent old things and give them new life. I got this tunic a few years ago and added a white slip to the hem to wear it as a dress. Now it fits in all the wrong places and has a few stains, so it got shoved to the back of my closet. You know, the "Maybe it Will Fit Me Again" type that ends up in the Goodwill pile years later...

That's where it was headed yesterday until I realized it would make a perfect bib necklace. I grabbed my seam ripper and got to work. I unattached it from the front and back necklines and used the belt as ties.

It's no Roberta Freymann but it's just what I needed for my white tank/white jeans ensemble that was starting to get a little old.

Now go dig through your closet to see what you can find!

So clever, Jennah! Definitely inspiration to take some scissors to my wardrobe. Thanks for the idea!

Obsessed! I have always loved that dress and absolutely LOVE it as a necklace too. Totally borrowing. You are brilliant.
