Before we dive right into holiday parties and decorating, I wanted to share a DIY project that I did for Thanksgiving. I had seen a tutorial for place cards on Style Notes that I was dying to try out, so I helped myself to Granny's paper stash at the last minute! We celebrated Thanksgiving with a group of family and friends (both old and new) so it was nice for everyone to have a designated seat. These would also be great at showers and parties to label drinks and hors d'oeuvres!
You will need notecards (I used chocolate brown), scissors, a pen, and foliage from the backyard. Simply fold the notecards in half, cut a tiny slit where you want your leaf, and poke it through. Easy peasy! I added berries for a pop of color since they were in the backyard, but you could use flowers or a poinsettia leaf for the holidays. You just need a tiny stem to poke through the slit.
My mother-in-law brought back fabric from Uganda that she used as tablecloths and the white dinner plates are from CB2. They are extremely sturdy and a STEAL for $4.95!!

I meant to tell you that night how much I loved the place cards. They were awesome.
Next year Gigi will have her own place card!!
