With Sugar on Top

Sugar Drop Cookies from Joy of Cooking

1. Preheat oven to 375º and lightly grease/line 2 cookie sheets

2. Sift together:
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
3/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon or 1/2 tsp grated or ground nutmeg

3. Combine and mix to blend:
1 cup sugar
3/4 cup veg. oil

4. Add 2 large eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition

5. Add 1 tsp vanilla

6. Add the flour mixture and beat well

7. Shape the dough into 1/2 inch balls (I did larger) and dip in sugar

8. Sprinkle with sugar, Bake 1 sheet at a time, about 10-12 minutes

9. Try not to eat them all before you transfer to a cooling rack!
