A sash is such an easy way to pull together an outfit and add layers. Use one you already have or get a piece of silk cut at the fabric store. If you rip it on the bias (diagonally) it won't fray and you don't have to even use a sewing machine! I love all the bow blouses for fall:

OP layered her sleeveless blouse under a sweater with a contrasting bow. I'm thinking I could swap this Bow Blouse from Target ($20) out with a black grosgrain ribbon. I'd wear it with black skinny jeans in the fall or white shorts next spring.

I love this Zara Printed Bow Top with denim for a casual look. It would be perfect with a pencil skirt and pumps at the office too.

Also adorable for little ones:

I had enough fabric leftover from my silk tank dress to make a top for Pearl. You can even see the ripped edges on the bow that I added. Unfortunately, it's still warm enough to wear it with shorts and sandals but it will be easy to throw on with jeans, boots and a cardigan when it cools down!
